What does everyone think of the Giller longlist this year? I have heard it described as both uninteresting and astonishing, but I am having a hard time deciding what I think given that I have not yet read any of the books -- nor have I read most of the books that people are surprised not to see there. So it's hard for me to have an opinion which is in any way, say....valid.
I already wanted to read the Katrina Onstad book, and now I am also pretty excited to take a look at Y by Marjorie Celona (Mark Medley calls it the Book of the Fall! Plus it sounds 100% up my alley.)
